Indian Marriage Systems are deep rooted in Vedic ritual rites and the positive aspects of these customs

Every country and geographical region in this world has different customs and traditions evolved over thousands of years of human growth and progress. The customs and religious practices of a religious sect or group might look strange and funny to other sects and groups. But if someone goes a bit deep into the history of these rituals and traditions they can better understand and appreciate the customs. In the same way if the discussion about Indian Telugu Marriages customs is centered around the majority community that is Hindu community it is having deep roots in the Vedic traditions. Though Indian subcontinent is multi plural in terms of rigid caste structures there are some common elements embedded in t them. They are basically monogamy and arranged marriage systems. Even today several Hindu families follow and adhere to Gothra system. Gothra is what actually denotes the family tree and shows the ancestry of the family. Each of the Hindu family attributes their roots to a particular ancient Rishi and there seven Rishis as per the Vedic tradition and marriages within the same Gothra is prohibitive.
